FERSHOPS PORTRAIT SESSION : LAURA + RYAN

I’ve long been inspired by the ethereal, cinematic work of photographer Fer Juaristi. I had the pleasure of meeting Fer last November when he spoke with his fellow Wedrockers at the Foundation Conference, where they brought down the house. It was there that I discovered that Fer is not only a gifted photographer but also one of the most humble and down-to-earth people you could ever hope to meet. I was very happy to be able to take part in his Fershops:Boston workshop this week. We spent the day at Ad Hoc studio, where he shared his vision, inspiration, and work. We also had the chance to wander the streets and do a couple of photo sessions with Laura and Ryan, a real-life engaged couple who were warming up in front of our cameras in anticipation of their wedding next year at the Aventura Spa Palace on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico (congrats, guys!) It’s always eye-opening to see how another photographer approaches a shoot, and it was a real treat to watch Fer as he worked the environment and the light. Here are a few photos from the day…many thanks, Fer, for your generosity and inspiration.
