As I was going through some travel photos from last year, I noticed that we took quite a few day- and weekend trips all over New England. I’m glad we got the chance to see and enjoy so many parts of the area before heading out west and wanted to share a few photos of our travels here. Hope you enjoy them!
At some point, we were on a quest to find the best lobster roll in Maine. One of our stops was a place that is on many top-10 lists – The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport. Their lobster roll comes warm with a choice of butter or mayo (or both!) on a toasted round bun. The verdict: simple, straightforward, and very tasty!
During a weekend stay at the Youngtown Inn in Lincolnville, ME, we stopped at the Cellardoor Winery located just down the road for a bit of wine tasting and snacks. The 18th century barn on site was beautifully restored.
Even the view from the bathroom was great!
We made it up north to Acadia National Park on a gorgeous day…
We stopped at the Jordan Pond House Restaurant for some of their famous popovers and a great view of the Penobscot Mountain and the Bubbles.
I loved the area around Camden, ME and the views from the top of Mt. Battie…
The Camden waterfront…
We walked out to the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, which is at the end of an almost mile-long breakwater.
A day trip to Provincetown (Cape Cod), MA…
A few from York, ME…
Fun at the fun-o-rama…
The Cape Neddick (Nubble) Lighthouse in York…
Self-portrait:
View of the foliage from the top of Peaked Mountain, in Monson, MA. The hike was beautiful…it was slightly past peak, but we still saw some great color…
During our last week on the east coast, we were lucky enough to be invited by my friend David Murray to enjoy this view from his home in Goose Rocks Beach, ME…
Goose Rocks Beach is so peaceful…
And finally, the view from the Provincetown ferry as we arrived back in Boston…
Good night, Boston…’til we meet again.
